Business Systems Analyst

Academic and Trade Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or a related field.
Four to six years’ experience as a Business System Analyst supporting Finance and Accounting teams. Experience delivering system implementations, upgrades and/or integrations.
Job Responsibilities:
  1. Assists in defining the business processes, information and work flows of the Finance System.
  2. Monitors industry trends and best practices to ensure that the Finance System is meeting organizational needs in the most efficient, cost-effective manner.
  3. Updates and maintains Finance System process documentation.
  4. Provide Finance system support. Trouble shoot issues and identify solutions.
  5. Identify opportunities for new Finance System enhancements resulting from new product functionality, including potential integration of cloud computing.
  6. Participates in vendor training and vendor user groups.
  7. Provides on-the-job training to Finance staff to drive process improvements.
  8. Tests and deploys application enhancements and/or new applications.
  9. Works closely with IT staff to ensure Finance Systems are integrated with other business needs.
  10. Serves as liaison between Finance and external IS vendors and actively manages problem resolution process.
  11. Financial report writing.
Job Knowledge:
Knowledge of information technology systems, business practices, accounting systems, data management and reporting. Able to understand business functions and relate defined data needs to application systems. Working knowledge of structured programming techniques and relational database administration. Crystal Reports or similar report design tool knowledge preferred.
Abilities and Skills:
Architectural understanding of Oracle JDEdwards platform and web technologies desired. Understanding of integration techniques and web services desired. Ability to work in cross-functional teams required. Strong analytical and product management skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
