Economic Development Specialist
Our Economic Development Specialist has a passion for economic development and community programs that help build a brighter future for rural North Carolina. The economic development professional will create and nurture strong relationships with external partners, economic development practitioners and our 26 distribution electric cooperatives throughout the state. The selected candidate will report to the Director of Economic Development and support programs (e.g. USDA) that lead to job creation for rural communities by helping attract new and expanding businesses. Understanding of issues related to property development, such as planning and permitting, and familiarity with construction processes will also be helpful. The ideal candidate is eager and quick to learn, organized and comfortable in a fast-paced, collaborative work environment within an industry that is rapidly changing and keenly focused on improving the quality of life for the communities we serve.

Digital Strategist
At North Carolina’s Electric Cooperatives, you’ll be part of an exciting mission to build a Brighter Future for our state and rural communities, making a real difference in the lives of our 2.5 million consumer-members. The Digital Strategist will develop and implement a comprehensive strategy across all digital platforms of our organization including our corporate website, NCElectricCooperatives.com, and our consumer-facing magazine’s website, CarolinaCountry.com, as well as related social media and email newsletters. You will also support member cooperatives in developing an effective digital strategy and provide cooperatives with guidance about digital solutions for connecting with and engaging consumer-members.

Senior Leader, External Affairs
Oversight of Government Affairs issues impacting member cooperatives including but not limited to federal and state agencies, general assembly activities and administration policy, PAC, and grassroots activities. Management of legislative advocacy, policy-focused stakeholder engagement, advocacy-related compliance, and legal review of NC Association of Electric Cooperatives (NCAEC) documents in consultation with the legal division as appropriate. Senior manager over economic development activities including site development, key account and member loan and financing program support. Senior management of safety training and compliance including member support and Nash Community College Training Program.
